Synposis:
A life time of fishing from the age of six, with my mother and father during our annual holiday we would visit Maidstone market on a Tuesday morning and spend the afternoon at Mote Park, Maidstone with a picnic, and fish in the lake for the bream and roach.
As soon as I learnt to ride a bike I was off to Dunorlan Park, Tunbridge Wells to pursue my love of fishing.
I saved up pocket money and purchased my first new rod from Camden Ironmongers in Camden Road, Tunbridge Wells for 30, Bob, £1.50 in new money.
I fished the farm ponds in Halls Hole road for Sticklebacks, Brighton Lake, on the Eridge Road, Bayham Lake with my father, but mostly, Dunorlan Lake, including the small pond in the park.
Eventually evolving into sea fishing, initially with my father who shared a boat "The Mallard" at the East Hastings Sea Angling Association.
After fishing with friends using club boats I purchased a new British Seagull 6 HP long shaft outboard engine to be in control of my own fishing. The 16 ft "Paul John" was my first boat, then the 18ft "Sea Scout".
Then the 22ft "Mistress", and finally the "Robert Mark" a 10mtr Starfish, chartering off The Isle of Wight.
I must give credit and thanks to my long serving wife Priscilla who has been hands on, in preparing and maintaining these craft for my pleasure, although only going to sea on the odd occasion herself.
This book is a diary of my exploits from 1982 - 1999. Mostly at Hastings, with Trips to Guernsey and Tobermory, Scotland included.
